If you missed our Research Committee Webinar or would like to revisit the discussion, the recording is now available on-demand for both CGA-IGC members and non members. Not yet a member? Learn more about joining here.

In this special session, Holli Loomans-Kropp, PhD, MPH from Ohio State University, and Ajay Bansal, MD from University of Kansas explored key issues in cancer prevention for Lynch syndrome.

Dr. Loomans-Kropp began by reviewing the cancer spectrum, underlying mechanisms, and diagnostic criteria in Lynch syndrome. She then discussed current screening and prevention strategies for both colorectal and extracolonic cancers, concluding with an overview of chemoprevention data on aspirin.

Next, Dr. Bansal explained how the immune system can be leveraged to influence cancer outcomes. He reviewed key principles of cancer vaccine development, highlighted seminal studies on therapeutic vaccines for cancer treatment and adenoma recurrence prevention, and discussed current efforts in Lynch syndrome including the structure and endpoints of the ongoing TRIAD5 vaccine trial and other neoantigen-based strategies.

This webinar offers valuable insights into the future of cancer prevention in the most common gastrointestinal cancer risk syndrome. Many thanks to our outstanding speakers and moderators for their time and expertise!

We hope you enjoyed this session and look forward to seeing you at the next CGA-IGC webinar.
