Welcome from the President

Dear colleagues and partners, Welcome to the Collaborative Group of the Americas on Inherited Gastrointestinal Cancers (CGA-IGC) and thank you for taking the time to visit our website. I am honored and humbled to serve as the President of the premiere hereditary gastrointestinal cancer society for the 2022 term. The CGA-IGC is devoted to providing cutting-edge education regarding the clinical management and science of inherited gastrointestinal cancer to physicians and allied healthcare professionals. The CGA-IGC supports professional growth, stimulates intellectual curiosity, facilitates collaborative research, contributes to advocacy efforts, and improves patient outcomes by expanding access to up-to-date information of interest to practitioners and researchers. Our strength is in our diversity of thought and experience. The CGA-IGC leadership, together with our committees, are working hard to expand our successful programs and to develop new endeavors with the goal to continually increase the value of our membership and to expand CGA-IGC’s footprint. It is my commitment that all feel welcome, the collective talents of our membership are mobilized, and our patients and their families are better served through these efforts. The CGA-IGC is committed to remaining connected and supportive to our hereditary GI cancer community despite the challenges presented by the global pandemic during the past years. We continue to work on expanding our strategic alliances that contribute to achieving our objectives, increase impact, and strengthen connections with members and stakeholders within our unique community. Planning for our annual meeting is well underway and after two years of virtual meetings we look forward to seeing many of you face to face in Nashville, TN from November 11 to 13 where the global, multidisciplinary hereditary GI cancer community will come together to network, share best practices and scientific advances in our specialty. A fun and exciting social program will complement the science (bring your cowboy boots and hat)! In the meantime, I encourage you to explore our website to become better acquainted with developments at CGA-IGC, our achievements and plans, and, above all, our unwavering commitment to realizing our mission and vision. We look forward to your involvement with CGA-IGC. Swati G. Patel CGA-IGC President & Chair of the Meeting Planning Committee
